Come unto ME

“Come unto ME…”
Matthew 11:28

“Me”—Jesus invites us “unto” Himself.
In an impersonal world, where most are inviting us to their latest concert, DVD, teaching series, conference, TV appearance, book, and the list goes on, there is One who is inviting us to Himself—to His person—to Himself personally.
He wants to invest in us personally.  He wants to know us personally.
He wants to spend time with us personally—face to face.

In a world where so many are about marketing themselves, there is One who is truly interested in us.  He wants to know us. He wants to hear from us.  He wants to be in relationship with us.

I’m reminded of an experience I had many years ago… A co-worker of my husband had invited us out to dinner.  During the dinner, I turned to him and said, “Tell me about yourself.”  He looked at me and studied me for a moment, and then he said, “You’re serious aren’t you?”  I replied, “But of course I am.”   And then he said, “No one has ever asked me that before.”

In this world where we seem to be more connected than ever before, there seems to be an even larger than ever void of truly being connected and truly being known.

But, there is One who cares.

There is One who wants to know us.

There is One who sincerely asks, “Tell me about yourself.”

There is One who unselfishly says, “Come unto Me.”
